More in store in 2024

On January 1, 2024, I made my list of goals like I usually do at the beginning of each year. My goals for this year center around three main categories: physical health, spiritual growth, and financial health. For example, I set a specific weight loss goal to meet by the time I turn 40 in May. I set a goal to read the whole Bible using the YouVersion Bible app. I set a specific savings goal for my emergency fund.

Blogging weekly made my 2024 goal list. In 2023, I started blogging, setting a lofty goal to write something every day. After a few days of that, my writing dwindled to almost nothing, with my last post entered in May 2023.

Mid-February slapped me today and reminded me to revisit my goals list. Hey, y’all!

As I get closer to entering my fourth decade of life, I see I undermine my own self when it comes to meeting my goals. No one else has to do it for me. I allow my insecurities, fears, and straight-up laziness create cataracts. My vision clouds up. Time for a lens correction!

At the end of 2023, I knew my slogan for 2024…hence, the title of this post. I knew God had more in store for me, those around me, and those around the globe. Even with all the dissension and division dominating the media, I know my God still shells out his goodness for his creation to experience.

On my walk this morning, I started praising God. My smile beamed back to his sun while the crisp air kissed my face. I heard birds singing, saw cows chewing cud, and even saw a lone butterfly flitting about. His blessings are innumerable.

I pray you experience more this year: more of his love, his grace, his joy, his power, his peace! I pray you experience tangible growth in the areas where you want to see increases. If you have a goal (or three) you’ve procrastinated starting, take your first step towards it today.

Blessings to you this year.
